                                        Bilingual EarlyON Early Childhood Educator

                           Full time (35 hrs/wk) 12 month contract, starts January 2018

 

South-East Ottawa Community Health Centre is a non-profit health, community and social services agency. The Centre is seeking an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to provide educational and support services to parents and families with children ages 0 to 6 years. The ECE  will be a member of our EarlyON team (formerly Better Beginnings Better Futures). Salary range $21.48 to $25.28/hr.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education. Must be a Registered ECE.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with multicultural families and their children
  • Experience with stimulating healthy child development and working with parents to become the best source of support and education for their child.
  • Awareness of community resources and sensitivity to issues of low-income, cultural and family diversity. Group facilitation skills an asset.
  • Ability to outreach, form a trust relationship with parents, assess family situations, and make appropriate judgements about what services are needed in a caring, nurturing and non-judgmental manner
  • Ability to respect values and belief systems of others.
  • Fluency in English and French; other languages an asset.
  • Strong organizational, observational, analytical and computer skills required
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate and Criminal Reference Check required
  • Valid Driver’s Licence and use of a vehicle
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
